Kashmir: Tulip Season at Full Bloom

Kashmir’s Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar is at peak bloom right now. Gulmarg and Pahalgam are fully booked on weekends as domestic tourists combine the tulip spectacle with spring treks and shikara rides on Dal Lake. Travel experts recommend visiting before May, when summer crowds begin to build and hotel rates climb.

Sikkim, Coorg, and Andaman Round Out the Top List

Sikkim’s rhododendron season peaks in April, with North Sikkim’s Yumthang Valley — the “Valley of Flowers” — at its most spectacular this month. Bookings are rising sharply for this short seasonal window. Coorg in Karnataka is also trending, with coffee estates in full bloom and the pre-monsoon forest at its most lush. April is considered one of the best months for a Coorg visit before the heavy June rains.

The Andaman Islands are in their final pre-monsoon window, with calm seas, excellent diving visibility, and fewer crowds than the December-January peak. Flights are filling fast, and travel platforms report that bookings for April-May Andaman trips have overtaken last year’s numbers.

Jorhat and Northeast India Emerge

Jorhat in Assam recorded a 493 per cent year-on-year increase in flight searches according to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026 report, making it India’s most trending destination. The city serves as the gateway to Majuli, the world’s largest river island, and offers tea estate experiences, satras (Vaishnavite monasteries), and river-based eco-tourism. Northeast India as a whole is emerging as a strategic travel region, benefiting from improved connectivity and digital infrastructure.

India’s travel infrastructure is expanding to meet demand — seven new high-speed rail corridors were announced in Budget 2026, North India hill stations are seeing early summer rushes, and Goa off-season rates have dropped 40-60 per cent as early monsoon travel gains popularity.
