Indie Game Utsav Puts 110 Indian Games on Steam’s Global Front Page for the First Time
Over 110 Indian-origin PC games are available at discounts of up to 80 per cent on Steam as the Comic Con X Indie Game Utsav Steam Sale runs from 10 to 20 April 2026. In a landmark moment for Indian PC gaming, these titles will be featured on Steam’s global front page from 18 to 20 April — the first time Indian-made games have received this level of visibility on Valve’s platform.
India’s Biggest Curated Steam Sale
The sale is a collaboration between Indie Game Utsav and Comic Con India, backed by Intel, Xbox, Xsolla, Specter, and Nodwin Gaming, with IGDA India as community partner. The lineup spans genres from horror and strategy to cosy adventure and action.
Avichal Singh, Co-Founder and Game Director of Nodding Heads Games and Project Director of Indie Game Utsav, said the initiative is designed to give Indian games a wider global audience. “I’m grateful for Nodwin’s and Valve’s support to surface Indian games to the world,” Singh said.
Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and MD of Nodwin Gaming, added that Indian indie creators “have something truly special to offer” and that the sale is part of a larger effort to build a stronger gaming community in India.
Featured Titles and Upcoming Releases
Highlights of the sale include Raji: An Ancient Epic, the critically acclaimed action-adventure set in ancient India; Fears to Fathom, a viral episodic horror series; Kamla, a spine-chilling Indian horror experience; Bao Bao’s Cozy Laundromat, a solo-developed gem; Kurukshetra, a cerebral card-based strategy game; and The Palace on the Hill, a tranquil narrative game.
Several upcoming titles are also showcased for wishlisting, including Abashed, Detective Dotson, Fishbowl, Sojourn Past, Frontier Paladin, and Appa. The breadth of genres — from Tea Garden Simulator to Dominate the Skies — reflects the diversity of India’s growing indie development scene.
On-Ground Debut at Mumbai Comic Con
The online sale coincides with the on-ground debut of Indie Game Utsav at Mumbai Comic Con, taking place on 12 and 13 April at the Jio World Convention Centre. Over 40 high-quality PC and console indie games will be playable at the event, which is expected to attract more than 45,000 attendees. The event is part of Maruti Suzuki Arena presents Mumbai Comic Con powered by Crunchyroll.
India’s esports ecosystem is expanding alongside the indie scene, with the ESFI opening national squad selections earlier this month. The BGMI Pro Series 2026 and other competitive events are drawing millions of players, while the GTA VI India launch on 26 May is expected to drive further growth in the PC and console market.
Why It Matters for Indian Game Development
The Steam front page placement is significant because it exposes Indian titles to Steam’s global user base of over 120 million monthly active players. Until now, Indian games have largely relied on organic discovery or niche marketing to reach international audiences.
The initiative signals growing institutional support for India’s indie game ecosystem. With Valve, Nodwin, Intel, and Xbox all backing the event, the sale could serve as a repeatable template for promoting homegrown games on the world’s largest PC gaming platform.
