NEET 2026 Admit Card Released by NTA on neet.nta.nic.in: Exam on May 3 With Download Steps and Key I

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET 2026 admit card on 26 April 2026, just one week before the highly anticipated National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate medical courses. Registered candidates can download their NEET UG 2026 hall ticket from the official website neet.nta.nic.in using their application number and password. The NEET 2026 exam is scheduled for 3 May 2026 and will be conducted at centres across India and in select cities abroad.

How to Download NEET 2026 Admit Card From neet.nta.nic.in

Candidates who registered for the NEET UG 2026 examination can download their admit card by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official NTA NEET website at neet.nta.nic.in. Step 2: Click on the “Download Admit Card for NEET (UG) 2026” link on the homepage. Step 3: Log in using your application number and the password created during registration. Step 4: Enter the security pin displayed on screen. Step 5: Your NEET 2026 admit card will appear on screen. Step 6: Verify all details carefully — name, photograph, signature, exam centre, and reporting time. Step 7: Download and take at least two colour printouts of the admit card.

The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination centre. Candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam without a valid printed copy of the hall ticket along with one government-issued photo identification document such as Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence.

NEET 2026 Exam Date, Time, and Pattern

The NEET UG 2026 examination will be conducted on Saturday, 3 May 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm IST (a total duration of 200 minutes). The exam follows the pen-and-paper mode (offline) using OMR answer sheets, as has been the practice since the examination’s inception.

The question paper will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into four sections: Physics (50 questions), Chemistry (50 questions), Botany (50 questions), and Zoology (50 questions). Each section is further divided into Section A (35 compulsory questions) and Section B (15 questions of which candidates must attempt any 10). This gives a total of 180 questions to be attempted.

The marking scheme awards 4 marks for each correct answer and deducts 1 mark for each incorrect response. Unanswered questions carry no penalty. The maximum achievable score is 720 marks.

NEET 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates selected their preferred medium during the application process, and the question paper will be provided in the chosen language alongside English.

Important Instructions on the NEET 2026 Admit Card

The NTA has issued detailed instructions that candidates must follow strictly on exam day. These are printed on the admit card and include the following key points:

Candidates must report to the examination centre by 1:00 pm, a full hour before the exam starts. Gates will close at 1:30 pm, and no candidate will be permitted to enter after this time under any circumstances. The exam begins at 2:00 pm with a mandatory 20-minute window for reading the question paper before marking answers.

Candidates are prohibited from carrying mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, wallets, handbags, or any electronic devices into the examination hall. Rough sheets will be provided by the invigilator and must be returned before leaving. Only blue or black ballpoint pens should be used for marking the OMR sheet — pencils or gel pens are not permitted.

The NTA has also implemented biometric verification at select centres to prevent impersonation. Candidates should expect fingerprint scanning and photograph matching at the entry point, which may add additional time to the check-in process.

What to Do if Your NEET Admit Card Has Errors

Candidates who notice discrepancies in their admit card — such as incorrect name spelling, wrong photograph, mismatched category, or incorrect exam centre — should contact the NTA helpline immediately at 011-40759000 or email neet@nta.ac.in. The NTA had earlier provided a correction window for application details, but candidates who missed this window should still report errors as early as possible. Previously, students across India celebrated when Uttarakhand Board declared its results earlier this month.

NEET 2026 Exam Centres and Seating Arrangements

The NTA has allotted examination centres to candidates based on the city preferences provided during registration. The “Advance Intimation of Examination City” was released earlier, giving candidates time to plan travel and accommodation. The admit card contains the exact centre address, room number, and seat allocation.

This year, NEET is being conducted at approximately 4,750 centres across 543 cities in India and 14 cities outside India. The number of registered candidates for NEET 2026 is estimated at over 24 lakh, making it the largest single-day entrance examination in the world.

Last-Minute Preparation Tips for NEET 2026

With less than a week remaining before the examination, experts recommend that candidates focus on revision rather than learning new topics. Key strategies include reviewing NCERT textbooks thoroughly (which form the basis of approximately 95 per cent of questions), solving previous year question papers under timed conditions, and focusing on high-weightage chapters such as Human Physiology, Organic Chemistry, and Mechanics.

Candidates should also plan their travel to the exam centre in advance, accounting for potential traffic delays, and ensure they get adequate sleep the night before the examination. Carrying a transparent water bottle and the required stationery in a clear pouch is recommended.
